I imagine you may be curious about me, so here it goes. I am the mother of three grown sons and grandmother of two boys and one girl. They range in ages from fifteen to twenty-five. I lost my husband of 38 years, the father of my children, ten years ago. I am remarried now to a wonderful man, Sam.
I am a US Navy veteran and a retired special education teacher. There is nothing better than watching a precious child or teenager understand a concept. His or her eyes light up and they sit a little straighter and begin to apply what they now understand with pride and diligence. In my years of teaching, I served children from age five to eighteen. I could tell you some stories!
Yes, I am older now and my time left on this earth is short. That is why my goal in these blogs is to encourage you to draw closer to God, to experience His love, His joy, His salvation.
My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-8. It says:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.
There is so much packed into these verses, and we are going to talk about it in coming blogs.
